Hampden & Co hires Wren as London banking director  – Mortgage Strategy

Hampden & Co has appointed Julian Wren as a banking director in its London office.

The Edinburgh-based private bank says Wren will provide commercial and personal clients with a bespoke service including day-to-day banking, deposits and a range of tailored borrowing.

A large part of its lender’s borrowing is geared around mortgage loans.

He joins from Arbuthnot Latham where he was a senior commercial banker, and previously worked as a commercial banker at Coutts, where he started his private banking career.

Hampden & Co head of private banking, London, Mark Plummer says: “Julian brings considerable business, technical and relationship expertise to Hampden & Co. His deep understanding of client needs, developed from a career working with private banks makes him a strong addition to the team.

“His appointment further underscores our aspirations to grow in London and the South-East.”
